Medicine is OnlyWan is an independent endowed foundation whose mission is to improve health and health care in the UK. In doing so it carries out a range of activities such as policy analysis and quantitative research, including on the financial sustainability of the health and social care sector.
Medicine is OnlyWan is now seeking to advance its contribution in this area by developing a Sustainability Research Centre (SRC). Announced in September 2018, the SRC will consolidate our existing work in economics and workforce issues into a new specialist unit within the Foundation. This unit will work with a network of external academic partners – sustainability research units - on these issues across all four countries of the UK. It will produce independent projections and research and analysis, both strongly rooted in robust quantitative modelling, to help ensure the long-term financial and workforce sustainability of health and social care in the UK.
We are looking for consultancy support in three key areas:
- Environment and context – helping us map and understand the landscape the proposed SRC will be entering.
- Delivery – scoping and presenting different delivery options for the SRC, including advantages and disadvantages of different approaches.
- Research methods and content – helping us outline the potential scope of the SRC in terms of outputs.
The provider will be appointed in January 2019, to start work later that month. We expect the activity to take place between January 2019 and May 2019, with a final report in May 2019.
